It sounds like some of you are prety into PC games. I just finished Ghost Recon GE and am looking for suggestions on my next purchase. I see a lot of post for BFV and COD so I was thinking of one of those. I was in Walmart the other day and saw the new Everquest, has anyone ever played that? I'm getting high speed net installed tomorrow so a good online game would be fun.
Let me know what you think.
See everyone at the big game.
I've been playing COD for a while... the new expansion pack, United Offensive has brought some new life to the game.
the single player is great, the MP it pretty good to..
I could never really get into BFV or BF1942, they just seemed to slow moving for me...
Everquest seems to be popular, but I think there is a monthly fee to play that online...someone can correct me on that.

I've played Battlefield 1942 and a few of the mods for it like Desert Combat. It's a good purchase and a highspeed connection is a must. I have been playing Battlefield Vietnam lately and Joint Operations. BF Vietnam in my opinion has more to offer than BF 1942. The 1942 mod for BF Vietnam adds a little more to the original BF 1942. There are a couple of other mods like Point of Existance for BFV that are in the early stages that are good but still need a little work.
Joint operations is made by Novalogic (Delta Force Series and Blackhawk Down creators) It's a good infantry based game with minimal vehicles compared to the Battlefield Series and the graphics are awesome.
For team based games I would recommend any of those.
I've tried Doom 3 and Far Cry and got the shit scared out of me at 1 oclock in the morning. Good single player games but really weak on multiplayer.
Next for me to try is Starwars Battlefront for a multiplayer game and I'm actually going to get a sports game...Madden Football 2005 looks really tempting.
Hope this article helps, anytime you need someone to frag with let me know or you might see "Brassnuts McFly" online and you'll have to give me a double tap and say hey.

When you get high speed internet I would suggest Unreal Tournament 2004! I also have Typhon Rising (also very good) and Doom 3 (great single player, very poor multi player).
My opinion, but hey, I got way too much time on my hands!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just got my high speed hooked up, this is amazing compared to dial up :D
I've heard good things about Unreal Tournament, and the new Star Wars game. I think I will give one of them a try.
See ya on the field

One last word. If you are into graphics and good alround physics of a multiplayer give Battlefield Vietnam a try. UT 2004 is awesome too but it's a totaly different experience.

I played Ghost Recon way back, it's all about BF1942 IMO though, the game rocks and has some cool MODS like Desert Combat. Couldn't get into UT just not my style. And i have also heard Doom3 "will" scare you.

Speaking of Desert Combat.....The last update comes out this weekend I do beleive!!
No more updates until DC is released as Battlefield 2 in the spring.
Matt, have you played Point of Existence yet? It's a MOD for Battlefield Vietnam. BTW playing the 1942 mod for BFV is nice, lots more filiage and special effects.

Well since playing BFV and comparing the Heli dynamics of the BFV hueys to the heli dynamics in DC I would have to say the BFV dynamics are far better. The BF 1942 engine just didn't lend itself well to the dynamics needed for the helicopters in DC. BF2 should be pretty impressive though.
Just purchased an upgraded Vid card for my ailing computer to limp it along till spring. Had to settle for an ATI 9800 PRO with 256 MB of RAM. Anybody have anything to say about the card? I've been hesitant in the past to get any card by ATI but this one had a pretty good write-up. Plus the same generation Nvidea's didn't seem to measure up.
I had to upgrade because I was having heat issues with my Geforce 3 Ti-500 because the fan would stop working and the card woud overheat.

Thats a decent card, I have heard good things its better than mine, I am running a 128PCI Nvidia, it performs ok, im getting a new computer pretty soon though, it will have at least a 256AGP, Im not sure what im gonna get though just yet. Oh and i liked the Helos in DC better but you have to remember they are different generation helos, it wouldn't be right if there dynamics were the same, they are 30-40 years apart, i like DC cause i can fly a AH-6 in between buildings while going down a street like a car to put a few people in on a flag, or flying a blackhawk while dodging Stingers and RPG's while my gunner lights em up, but thats not to say i didn't like the helos in BFV, i thought they were awsome!
